Welcome Back!
We hope you are having a successful first week of classes! We wanted you
to be the first to know about a significant change in the Big Red Relief
game plan this year. By now you’ve all heard about the tragedy in Haiti so
we don’t have to reiterate just how dire the situation is, however we do
want to emphasize the importance of our campus coming together under this
worthy cause. That is why Big Red Relief is joining the campus wide
initiative for Haiti Relief, we were founded as an organization that
responds effectively to crises like the one in Haiti and we plan to do
just that.
We are not, however, turning our backs on Invisible Children. We will
still be raising as much awareness for their noble cause as possible, even
though the proceeds from the concert will go to Haiti Relief Efforts.
The concert isn’t until April, but there will be other campus events
supporting Haiti in the coming months. We urge you to support as many of
these efforts as possible.
We still want you to keep BRR in mind though, by April the news frenzy
might have died down but the need for aid is long lasting and we can’t
allow ourselves to turn our backs. We hope to make this year’s concert the
biggest yet and we can’t do it without your help.
So yes, just a quick update from Big Red Relief! All the best with the
rest of your week!
Warm Regards,
OreOluwa Badaki
Co-President, Big Red Relief
